SAFVIC Systems Instructor

Autumn Vandegrift is a dedicated SAFVIC Systems Instructor, actively involved in the development, implementation, and instruction of the Sexual Assault Family Violence Investigators Course (SAFVIC) and SAFVIC Systems programs. In her current role, she brings a strong passion for training and advocacy, backed by extensive frontline experience in law enforcement and crisis response.

Before joining TMPA, Autumn served with distinction at the Leander Police Department. Over the course nearly a decade, she held several key positions, including Senior Patrol Officer, Field Training Officer, and Assistant Crisis Negotiation Team Lead for the Central Texas Regional SWAT. As a member of the department’s specialized traffic enforcement unit, she contributed to the Collision Reconstruction Team, earned her UAS Remote Pilot License, and became an Advanced TRC Instructor through the Department of Public Safety (DPS).

Autumn’s investigative experience is broad and impactful. She has led numerous investigations into assault family violence and sexual assault cases, including crimes against children. Additionally, her expertise extends to white-collar crime, having specialized in insurance fraud and financial crimes while serving as a state investigator.

Prior to her law enforcement career, Autumn worked as a Victim Services Advocate, offering crucial support to victims within the community. As a police officer, she continued this mission of care and support by joining the department’s peer support team, providing emotional and practical assistance to fellow first responders during times of crisis.

Autumn holds an Associate of Science degree in Criminal Justice and is currently pursuing her bachelor’s degree. Her diverse background also includes experience in procurement, supply chain management, and financial contracting — skills she developed prior to entering the field of law enforcement.

Outside of her professional work, Autumn is a certified Reiki Master/Teacher and enjoys a variety of hobbies including yoga, rowing, fishing, horseback riding, traveling, and spending time outdoors.
