Trauma-Informed Training
In-Person Training
Trauma presents in many different ways and can seem counterintuitive or confusing to those unfamiliar with the effects of trauma. The signs of trauma are often seen in victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking cases, which makes training on recognizing the signs of trauma essential.
A trauma-informed victim interview increases investigative efficacy, successful prosecutions, procedural justice, and a victim’s experience with the criminal justice system. This training uses examples from real investigations along with practical exercises.
This is an interactive training that covers:
The Neurobiology of Trauma
Conducting a Trauma-Informed Victim Interview
Trauma-Informed report writing
The effects of trauma on victims
Trauma-Informed Victim Interviews is a 3-hour class eligible for TCOLE credit (#53272). This class is provided as part of the initial Systems training package.
